Calls can be transferred to a target by way of a warm or attended transfer. In an attended transfer, the first party speaks to the target before transferring the call.
You can make a transfer from the Phone dial pad, from Contacts, or from History.
To make a transfer:
-
Once a call has been initiated select the transfer button.
- This will now allow you to enter the name, number or extension of who you would like to transfer the call too.
- Either select Transfer Now to perform a blind transfer or select the drop down arrow for more option.
- This will now give you the option to Call First which is known as a attended transfer. This will put the current call on hold and allow you to call the intended transfer recipient prior to transferring the call.
- When you are finished speaking with the intended transfer recipient, click Transfer Now to complete the transfer.
The Jet Phone will connect the remote party to the target and disconnects you from both calls.
How to transfer calls - Using Extensions ( Internal Transfers)
Every Jet Phone User will have a 3 or 4 digit Extension Number. Users can dial each other directly or transfer calls using any direct extension number, however there are some limitations to this.
A call or transfer to an extension number does not have a callflow, so there is no voicemail or other call management process on these contact attempts. The call will attempt for 30 seconds, and if the person you are contacting does not reply, the call will end.
We recommend always using a Warm transfer (placing the first call on hold, contacting the second call and ensuring this call is accepted before completing the transfer).
To transfer the call to an extension, simply enter the number in the section as shown in screenshot below:
Then use the dropdown to select Call First.
You can also call someone's extension number directly by dialling their extension number as a new call.
