Jet is in the process of launching a completely redevoped softphone app for desktop & mobile. The new apps come with improvements across functionality, reliability & will allow for more powerful integrations that are set to be released.
App Updates
SMS message thread - SMS sent via the Jetphone app are no longer required to be sent in 61 format in order for them to be kept in one thread. Messages can be sent to a number beginning with 04, and they will be kept in the same thread when a reply is received.
SMS Character Limit - SMS no longer have a character limit. These messages will not be split by Jet. It is still recommended to keep SMS messages brief as these messages may still be cut by the receiving network.
Contacts - Your Jetphone contacts will now automatically be displayed in the App. In addition to this the new softphones have the ability to integrate with your Google or Microsoft 365 contacts. Contacts can still be added manually to each users account & will sync with your device contacts.
Call Answered Indication - When a call is answered on a different device or another user. The call history will indicate that the call was answered elsewhere.
Number formatting - Numbers that are copied and pasted into the softphone will automatically format ready to be called
How to utilise the new apps
If a member of the Jet team has not already reached out to you about your migration to the new apps, please click the button in the top right of the screen to submit a ticket.
If you have been contacted, and have indicated that you are ready to migrate Jet will initiate this process for you. All existing Jet Phone users will receive an email inviting you to register for the new app. The steps to complete are below
- Click the register button in the email
- Complete your registration by either creating a password OR if you are an existing Jethub user, entering your password.
- Download the new apps from the following page & log in using your email & password
- Log out of the old Apps & then uninstall from your devices.
FAQ
Will my existing apps still work after my migration?
Yes, the existing apps will continue to function. This will give you and your team time to register and log into the new apps. It is recommended to complete this quickly however & to remove the old Applications as soon as you have successfully logged in and made a phone call
Why do I need a new App?
The new softphones are a significant update & have been required to be built from scratch in order for our team to launch new features and integrations that will be available over the coming months
How do I download the new Apps?
Once you complete your registration, you will be taken to a landing page with links to the apps. You can also download them anyway from our downloads page here
Will my callflows or numbers be affected?
No, your existing setup does not change. Numbers & callflows will not be changed
Will there be downtime while I'm migrating?
No, as the existing apps will continue to function there will be no downtime while setting up the new apps.
